The spacious, white room now felt cramped and dirty. Overhead fluorescent lights flickered dimly, casting shadows behind overturned furniture. Melanie slowly stepped into the room, feeling his presence before she could even see him. His power and persuasion was strongest here, in this room. He was in this room. She had never felt it at this capacity. His anger, his hatred, his confusion telepathically penetrated her mind, searching, seeking, hunting, all the while prompting her to take a seat at the neatly placed table and chairs at the far end of the room.
